The park also offers several optional activities, each priced individually:

Night Game Drive: US$30 for foreign non-residents, US$15 for foreign residents, and UGX 50,000 for East Africans.

A Park of Rolling Hills and Lakes

The scenery of Lake Mburo is breathtaking in its simplicity. The park lies in a landscape of soft rolling hills, dotted with acacia trees and intersected by shimmering lakes and swamps. At its heart lies Lake Mburo, the largest of five lakes within the park’s boundaries and part of a larger chain of 14 lakes connected by the Rwizi River. About 20% of the park’s surface area consists of wetlands, providing a rich habitat for aquatic species, birds, and the animals that come to drink and graze.

The park’s vegetation is mostly open savannah and acacia woodland, interspersed with rocky ridges, forested gorges, and papyrus swamps. Some of the dominant trees include Acacia hockii, Acacia sieberiana, and Acacia polyacantha. The lush riparian vegetation along the lakeshores creates the perfect backdrop for photography especially at sunrise and sunset when the golden light reflects off the calm waters.
